Our Story
Tromboneucd was born in 2018 out of a simple observation: while mobile technology was rapidly spreading across Ghana, financial tools remained largely inaccessible to many citizens. Our founder, Kofi Agyeman, experienced this disconnect firsthand when attempting to help his mother, a market vendor in Tamale, manage her business finances through traditional banking methods.
Frustrated by the complexity and barriers of existing financial systems, Kofi assembled a small team of like-minded technologists and financial experts to create digital solutions specifically designed for the Ghanaian context. Starting with a basic mobile expense tracking app, the team worked closely with local entrepreneurs, students, and community members to develop tools that truly addressed their needs.
The name "Tromboneucd" combines "Trombone" – a musical instrument that amplifies sound – and "UCD" (User-Centered Design), reflecting our mission to amplify financial capabilities through user-focused solutions. Within two years of our launch, our user base grew from a small pilot group in Tamale to thousands of users across Ghana's major cities and rural communities.
Today, Tromboneucd stands as a pioneer in Ghana's fintech landscape, continuously expanding our suite of tools while maintaining our core commitment to accessibility, security, and local relevance.
